• Up upon a mountain side, is a village which would be clad by thick snow and blizzard during the winter months. They are miners, who work at the nearby mines, herders with their goats and sheeps,  and priests who tend to a shrine near the top of the mountain.  During the long cold months, they rely on a village at the foot of the mountain, near a forest, for charcoal and firewood to fight off the cold. However, this year the winter has came early, and before the first delivery of firewood and coal could be made, a landslide has sealed of the route up the mountain. The villagers up at the mountain would need them if they are to survive…

    1. There is long rumoured of the first founders of the village who ascend to the top by the way of the Sky Scaling Stairs, a series of steps found in a cave within the mountain. Those stairs, according to the folk-tales, led to a crystal-clear icy pool which always mirror the moon and there a shrine dedicated to the worship of the Lunar Goddess was found. By piecing information from ancient lore, folk-tales and exploring ruins at the foot of the mountain, the adventuers would be able to unearth the Sky Scaling Stairs, and perhaps be in time to save the villagers.
    2. The adventurers are at the top of the mountain when the landslide occurred and are trapped in the village. They have to figure out how to survive the winter, or escape, and it would be a feat if they could save the whole village too. There are many possibilities – the priests of the Moon Shrine talked of an eternal garden of spring hidden somewhere within the mountain-tops. A fearsome race of snow giants were rumoured to be holing up in some caves and was placated since long ago with seasonal offering of fruits and wine. Meanwhile, more than just the cold threatens to kill. Wolves howl at the moon and strange shadows lurk at the doorways. What have this accursed winter bring?
    3. In this case, the adventurers weren’t around, and nothing could be done to save the village. It was assumed they all perished. The early winter was predicted and preparations were made to bring supplies up the mountains before it struck. However, a rich nobleman came to the village at the foot of the mountain about two weeks before and paid an impressive amount of money for the supplies. The greedy merchants, thinking that a delay of a week or two would not hurt, sold the supplies to the nobleman…only to have the landslide struck the three days later. This winter though retribution is coming. The winter comes even earlier and a chill wind blows through the mountain and the forest. The villagers from the mountain has returned as snow wights, and have came down to find the merchants who had sold their supplies. They would kill without reason until the culprit is found; or till they are destroyed.
