• The Spear of the Conqueror is a legacy left behind by the man who forge an empire larger than any that exists within the span of ten years, before dying of a mysterious cause (In the Dragon Warriors universe, this is the Great Conqueror from Emphdor). While the tomb of the Conqueror is found (and is found empty, but that’s a story for another time), his spear was missing. Numerous stories and folk-tales have sprang up about the spear, including one that whoever comes to possess the spear will have the power over hundreds of thousands of men.

    1. Words have reached many that a wealthy merchant family has the Spear of the Conqueror; the spear is indeed a marvel of behold, it’s shaft cast in some light silverly metal, with runes inscribed upon it. The head of the family believed that within the script lies a spell or a ritual which would bestow one with great power and is seeking out sages and scholars to unravel its meaning. Others are secretly plotting to get thier hand on the spear. Alas, the spear is a cunningly crafted fake. Who created this forgery, what is his motive? What would he gain by spreading such strife and chaos?
    2. The spirit of the Great Conqueror is imbued within the spear. It appears to be an ordinary weapon, but its owner would slowly gain status and raise through the ranks of the populace. In the first, he would convince 100 to follow him; in the second, a hundred; by the third,  thousands. Within a month, he would be treated as a prince and ten of thousands would follow him. However, the spirit of the Great Conqueror will consistently try to dictate the owner of the spear. In the hand of a lesser man, he would be completely overwhelmed; in the hand of a powerful man, the spirit would only advice and slowly watch for gaps to exploit so that his ends would be met. This spear, unfortunately (or fortunately) has fallen in the hand of a shepherd boy of Emphdor…
    3. The spear was recovered after a lengthy expedition; but on the night of the adventurer’s celebration, one of theirs, perhaps a mentor or an ally, disappeared with the spear. After a brief chase, the spear was recovered, but only then the adventurers would realise that there is more to the spear than it meets the eye. There appeared be a mechanism within the spear by which the spear-head could be detached, and the shaft was actually hollowed out. What was within there was a mystery, but at the bottommost of the shaft was a piece of rolled parchment, perhaps overlooked by the thief in his haste. Were there other parchments within the shaft? They might be accurate maps of the Conqueror’s campaign, directions to his lost treasure, the content of a powerful ritual to ressurect the Conqueror or something even more diabloic…
