• Some secrets are best forgotten, and the Magefire is one of those. An ancient alchemical mixture, it is kept in a seal pottery jar. When the jar is broken and the mixture is exposed to air, the Magefire ignites and burns and nothing could put it out except sorcery, till the flame dies out in its own good time. With the downfall of Emphdor (or an ancient civilisation of the GM’s choice), the secret of preparing Magefire is lost. But soon, not anymore.

    1. A stash of Magefire has been found in the ruins of an ancient temple dedicated to a deity of fire. The brigands who found the Magefire used them discriminatory, and attracted the attention of a band of bounty hunters. The brigands were destroyed but a sage among the band realised that Magefire was being used and held a theory that the temple may hold the secrets. Seeking to explore the depths of the catacombs below the temple complex, the sage is asking for the adventurers for aid…
    2. It may be an unlikely coincidence but there are reports of Magefire being used by brigands and mercenary bands  throughout the land. The usage of the weapon at those rash hands usually cause wanton destruction and massive fire. The noble of the land has called an investigation of where does the Magefire originate from, and it all points to a trading down at the Shimmering Cape which has extensive contacts with realms across the oceans. Perhaps a merchant is bringing in the Magefire?
    3. The adventurers have found the secret of Magefire – a tome which details its preparation. However, it is written in a dialect of an ancient language which is difficult to understand and the instructions are cryptic. Perhaps a sage or a sorcerer would be able to understand the writing. Perhaps they should sell the tome to someone else. Or maybe they should just leave the tome alone or burn it.  Probably the adventurers may have suspected it but it is obivous that someone else have been hunting for that tome for a very, very long time.
