So three cycles of the moon had waned and waxed, and the North Cave Mystic, curious about the progress of his disciples, made a trek to the Mirror Lake.

To the second disciple he made the first visit. The disciple was working, flow-charts of progression of the game from void to termination hang on the walls, while matrices detailing how different elements of the game harmonize with each other lay upon the tables. His details rivaled that of Fuxi’s I Ching!

  • Erect upon on island, deep within the Coradian Sea, is a massive obelisk which reaches up into the sky. Hexagon in shape and jet-black in colour, it has the writings of different languages, most now long lost, etched along its surface.  A learned scholar would be able to recognise Ancient Emphidian, Anicent Kaikuhran, an old dialect of Bacchile, Nascerine and even Qemor Hieroglyphs. What is the secret behind this massive standing stone? Who is the author of what is written there? More importantly, what is being written there and why?

Yet he was poor, and desperate and hence he spent an entire day seeking the Sage of the Sleeping Dragon Ridge. And when he found the Sage, he prostrated himself before the great Sage, begging him for his help.

A Dragon Pearl resides in the well. While Black Dragon Pearls grants wealth, this is the pearl of an Earth Dragon (which according to Khitian lore, represents health and vitality). The First Disciple of the North Cave Mystic said thus to the Second Disciple: “You have the Supreme Gameplay, I have the Supreme Code. You and me are destined for greatness. We should work together and who in the world of games can defy us?”

The Second Disciple agreed, and the two of them moved inwards into the Tianshan Mountains for solitude and silence. • Dragon Warriors may come across as an odd one in the RPG world, even with its re-release. It is old school in feel and tone and with D20 taking the crown for being rules-heavy, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay being the poster child of grim and gritty and Castles and Crusaders being the representation of “harking back to the times of yore”, Dragon Warriors feel like it is squeezed out from the pack.

  • Stonechapel is a fortress-city, starting first hundreds of years ago as a simple citadel, now it is home to hundreds within. Farms spring up about the fortress to feed its garrisons and the merchants who come by to sell their tools and metal ignots. Sitting in the centre of a fertile vale, Stonechapel guards a vital point within the immediate area. So it may comes as a surprise that one of the gates is unguarded at all times. No hawk-eyed sentry watches from the wall or stern guard captain stands by the gate. In fact, the area seems to be devoid of people.
