Though within a fief, one is ruled by the noble, at least one thing is respected – that of honor and tradition. There is no such “nonsense” in towns and cities though. A small church of the True Faith, within a bustling town, could not afford to pay the new landlord, a gruff merchant who has no patience with religions. Being in a prosperous town draws less tithe from the crowds too, as the traders and guilds are not at the mercy of the weather and tend to be less superstitious.

This cottar has been many time branded as a wizard, but has no problem partaking the host in churches of the True Faith. His only companions are wolves; he had somehow became friends with them and though not recognised as superior, the fearsome beasts regard him as peer. For years he has kept the surrounding villages safe.

The Chieftain Kings of Thuland keep in touch with each other with gigantic stone horns positioned upon inaccessible hills. Whenever a mustering of the chieftains is required, messenger from the Great Thane is sent to each horn and thus each Chieftain is summoned. For hundreds of years, since the last invasion of the Empire, the horns have not been sounded. But now they ring aloud again.
